A fabulous weekend in rainy Dublin! Thank you to all those that stopped to chat, it was lovely to speak to those that remembered me from last year too. Thank you to those that bought, I hope that the work brings you many years of pleasure. I'm in the process of booking my stand for next year already. A bigger stand on the ground floor I think! If anyone would like to have another look at my work, Gallery Zozimus on Francis Street has got a number of my recent works in the showroom. They can be contacted here www.galleryzozimus.ie I've got a few new pieces that will be documented this coming weekend and should be on the website by Sunday.

I have been a bit lax about updating this for a few weeks, sorry about that, the time just seems to fly by. I've just got back from the Windsor Contemporary Art Fair. It was held at the Windsor Race Course and was an absolute hoot. Thank you to all you who stopped to chat about the work and a special thanks to those that took pieces away with them. One new piece that I hadn't even had time to photograph is soon to be gracing the wall of a house in Ibizia! My work is better travelled than I am :( I'm now in a spin trying to get everything ready for Dublin next weekend. I need to get the car serviced (usually the kiss of death for any vehicle) and make sure that all the work is properly wrapped for the journey. The ferry is booked (yikes, not as expensive as the Isle of Wight ferry, but surely not far off it) and we're really looking forward to it. If anyone would like a freebie e-ticket to the fair please email me and I'll reply back with one.I'm going to have some new work at Dublin, I'll try and make sure that it's all uploaded to the website before I go. Right, I'm off to make some CD's for the journey, a road trip needs proper music. Toodlepip.

Rather excitingly, Brighton Art Fair will be apon us soon. If there's anyone out there that would like an invite to the PV or a free ticket for the weekend please email me and I'll pop one in the post. I've also got some freebies for the Teddington Art Fair at the Landmark Centre. A thousand apologies to those that have left their contact details with me at previous fairs but I have mislaid my precious black book. This means that I haven't been able to send out the proper invoices for previous sales yet. The book will surface eventually and when it does I shall catch up with you all. Hope to see you soon. PS, quite a few new paintings have been finished and will be put on the website very shortly.

A little late but a thank you to the artists and members of the public who I met at Prelude in Spitalfields last weekend. It was really very warm under the glass roof but ut seemed to increase everyones sunny disposition! AND I got to see Gilbert and George twice on their regular morning perambulation. A special thanks to Chantell, I hope that your new home by the sea is as exciting as it sounds. A break from art fairs for a while, probably just as well as it'll give me time to finish the work that I've got in progress at the moment. That said, Craig Kerrecoe from the wonderful Ovenden Contemporary Art Gallery in Ely has invited me to take part in their Summer Exhibition next month. This'll mean a fairly hectic couple of weeks making some new work for that. If you are in the Ely area please pop along. My final two fairs of the year, Dublin and Windsor have now been booked and I'll add them to the events listing. I've had also had a very exciting conversation with a gallery which might mean my first appearance at the Affordable Art Fair this year. More information about that if and when it is confirmed. Meanwhile I'm in the process of getting the last few bits together for our mad dash to Casablanca. My friend Ian is having to learn very quickly how to paint Zebra stripes on our Volvo (not as easy as it might seem) while the rest of us arrange the innoculations required for spending a week in the car (it's filthy) More can be found here www.justgiving.com/stratfordstompers

A cracking weekend at the Battersea Art Fair. Great to meet some new artists and catch up with some familiar faces. I rather liked being up on the stage. It certainly was a wonderful view of the fair, if a trifle hot under the spotlights. Thank you again to those that stopped for a chat and a special thankyou to those that bought. The new painting was sold even before I had a chance to document it properly. I managed to get a quick snap of it for the website and I'll upload it later today so I've got a record of it. The lovely couple who bought the (still wet!) painting also bought Idyll, one of my favourite paintings. I'm pleased that it sold at a fair rather than a gallery so I know where it is and who's got it. I hope that all of you new owners are pleased with your acquisitions. Do drop me a line if you have the chance to let me know how you're getting along. I heard on Saturday that I've been accepted for the 2007 Brighton Art Fair. Ace news, Brighton is a lovely venue and by then I hope to have all new work available. First of all is Prelude at Spitalfields in June. I used to love visiting the market there a few years ago and I'm looking forward to spending the weekend there with my paintings. I understand that the stands are set up in the new part of the market. It doesn't cost anything to come and have a look so please pop along.

A huge thankyou to all of you who stopped for a chat at the Hertfordshire Art Fair at the weekend. Your fabulous comments keep me full of enthusiasm when I'm back in the shed making new work. Speaking of which, I took six pieces of new work with me to Ware and only had to bring two of them home! As ever, a massive thank you to all who made a purchase. It's a fantastically exciting feeling when someone feels so strongly about something that I've made that they take it home with them. The lady who bought "Sunset" was so excited about it. She said that she couldn't take her eyes off it. Fairs are such a great way of selling. Painting is such a personal process, sending the work to a gallery and receiving a cheque is great but actually seeing the people fall in love with a piece of work and hearing them talk about it is so much better. Battersea is next. I like BCAF, it always has such a nice buzz about it. This year I'm upstairs for the first time so it'll be interesting to see if it's as nice there as downstairs. I'm off to the framers shortly to pick up some new work. I've done a series of large paintings, one of which should be ready for the weekend. I'm very excited about it as it's the largest work that I've produced in ten years. Also I'm experimenting with a different frame as framing these with my usual black moulding would mean that a forklift would be needed to move them! After much headscratching I've remembered how to update the images on the site. So I've added a small number of new works. I'll get busy with the camera over the next few days and try and add a few more soon. Hope to see some of you at Battersea, toodlepip!

A little off topic I guess but three friends and I are competing in a banger rally next month. We'll be driving from France to North Africa in a 20 year old Volvo that we paid £100 for. We are doing it to celebrate making it to 40 and to raise some money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. MND is a horrible disease that claimed the lives of both my father and that of my team mate Ian. Please see http://www.mndassociation.org/index.html for more information about the illness. More information about the rally can be found at http://www.calais2casablanca.com/index.esp. If you'd like to make a donation to the MNDA please go to www.justgiving.com/stratfordstompers. If you'd like to see how we get on with our voyage we're hoping to post a blog and photographs on www.stratfordstompers.com

Yikes! Where does the time go? Well, 2007 continues on a pace. I took part in an Art Fair in Birmingham last month but the less said about that the better. The fairs that I'm taking part in so far this year have been added to the events list. In addition I'm hoping to be accepted for Brighton again this year, I had a whale of a time last year, made some new friends and sales too! I've been invited to take part in the new revamped Manchester Art Fair (now rebranded as Love Arts) but I've got a lot on in November as I'm hoping to attend the Windsor Art Fair and then go back to Dublin for the Autumn Art Ireland event. The studio is piled high with work in progress. After concentrating on smaller pieces last year I've gone back to larger pieces in mixed media (ie.more dried up paint and bits chipped off old palettes) I'm hoping to have one of the new pieces framed up in time for Battersea in a fortnights time. In addition I've been experimenting with a new series of works on paper. Revisiting themes from my earlier watercolours but using new media (to me anyway) such as water soluable pencils and pastels. With these new tools I've been able to incorporate my colour studies with the linear element that I've been searching for. I'll be posting some images of new work on the website in the next few days (now that I've remembered the password for the website) Right, time is ticking on and I need to get on for preparations for the Hertfordshire Art Fair next weekend. I'm hoping for a break in this infernal brilliant sunshine otherwise everyone will clear off to the beach and leave us exhibitors all on our tod queuing at the ice cream van. As ever, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to drop me a line. It's always lovely to hear from you. I'll try to be a little more sprightly about keeping this place up to date from now on as well *hangs head in shame*
